The FIFA World Cup
The FIFA World Cup is one of the most important international sports and competitions under the supervision of the International Federation of Football. The tournament is held every 4 years from 1930 except in 1942 and in 1946 due to World War II.
About 32 international teams are taking part in this tournament . The teams are divided into 8 teams competing for the 16th round, then the eighth, then the semi-final, after that two teams compete to win the competition , the duration of the tournament is a month playing in the stadiums of the country hosting the tournament.
The last 20 championships have won 8 different international teams, and Brazil has been the most active in these tournaments that attended all the tournaments since 1930 and has been the crowning glory of the World Cup, winning 5 times in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002) and then the Italian team, which won the title 4 times in the years (1934, 1938, 1982, 2006), as well as Germany, which won the title 4 times in the years (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014). Argentina and the Uruguay team have won twice a title for each team, France is the last one to win 2018 competition and this is the second winning in world cup competition.
The idea of the World Cup is due to the first meeting of the International Federation of Football in 1904 in the presence of (7) countries in the meeting - Belgium, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden, where the Federation adopted the idea of holding the tournament around the world.
The World Cup is one of the most world championships in the world, with a total of 715 million spectators in Germany that the the channels transmitting the World Cup have reached 208 channels.
From 1930 until 1970, the Cup was the Jules Rimet Cup. It was given to the hero of the tournament, which was called before 1946 on behalf of the World Cup, but in 1946 the cup was named after the Jules Rimet Cup, and after Brazil won the football in the 1970 FIFA World Cup, The third in their history, allowed them to keep the cup but the cup was stolen.
After the 1970 FIFA World Cup, a new World Cup was created, named the World Cup. It is made of gold and weighs 6175 g. At the bottom of the cup there is a carving of the names of the winning teams since 1974
The question of hosting countries for the World Cup at first was controversial, and choosing where to play was difficult. A vote is being held on hosting the FIFA World Cup. After the FIFA World Cup 1958, and to avoid other problems, FIFA adopted a rotation system to host the World Cup between Europe and South America, which lasted until the FIFA World Cup 1998 till japan and south Korea asked to host the world cup in 2002, the first tournament in Asia, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and this was the first in Africa.
